I'm a bit leery of installing this DNG Converter update because it says it's only compatible with Photoshop CC. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Cs6\File Formats. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Cs6\File Formats. The only thing I can think of that makes any sense here is that Adobe now only provides Camera Raw updates through Adobe Photoshop of Photoshop Elements. Oh and no need to put the camera raw.8bi in the cs6 program files folder, since having the plugin in two places just confuses cs6. If you're using Photoshop CS6 and haven't yet updated to Camera Raw 8, you can do so by going up to the Help menu (in Photoshop) in the Menu Bar along the top of. It's puzzling that MacUpdate would leave this misleading naming problem unresolved for so long. Photoshop CS6 originally shipped with Camera Raw 7, but Adobe has released a free update for CS6 users to the new Camera Raw 8 (or more specifically, 8.1 at the time I'm writing this). There is no explanation on Adobe's web site, that I can find, of this issue, not any recent download link for the actual Camera Raw plug-in.
I am not able to find the installable for this plugin version. The last raw plugin version for cs6 was 9.1.1. For more information, see Use Camera Raw 5.x with Photoshop Elements 6 when you also have Photoshop CS3 installed (Mac OS). After the re-install it is not processing Canon 7dmk2 raw files. Note 3: When you install Adobe Bridge CS3 as part of Photoshop Elements 6 on Mac OS, Adobe Bridge supports Camera Raw through version 5.5. Adobe Labs has released version 8.6 of its Adobe Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop CS6, CC and CC2014, along with Lightroom 5.6. Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 plugin can be downloaded for free by existing Photoshop CS6 users. The last few versions of what is called Adobe Camera Raw on MacUpdate contain only the latest DNG Converter, not the latest Camera Raw files or plug-in.
